I have always had a heart for helping others, but my passion for fitness was born out of loss. After chronic illness derailed my life in 2015, it was through exercise that I was able to rebuild and drastically improve my physical and mental health, as well as my overall quality of life (As a mother of two, you can imagine how important functional ability is to me!). In 2021 I decided to turn my passion into my path and enrolled in the Personal Fitness Trainer program at NAIT, graduating in spring 2023 with honours. Trueform hosted me for my practicums and then welcomed me to the team. I believe in wellness from a whole-person perspective, that all movement matters, and that we are stronger together.
I love working with individuals of all ages, fitness levels, and abilities. Whether training for life or sport, getting to be alongside my client as they hit that milestone they’ve been reaching for is a joy and a privilege that will never get old.
Running! My fitness journey started with running, so it will always be a favourite. I like to refer to it as the “best-worst” because there are always times during the run where you question “why?!” and have to battle your own mind, yet that post-run high is a real thing and it’s the best.
Functional strength training would be a very close second. Functional training is exercising in the gym to benefit life outside the gym, and my personal life transformation is a testament to this training style. Consider it “future-proofing” your body.
Get comfortable being uncomfortable. Growth begins outside of your comfort zone! “A ship is always safest at shore, but that’s not what it was made for”. You were made for more...
“Run for your life”. As in - find the movement that drives you, the thing that challenges you, and get after it! Chase after the life that you desire. Dream big. Don’t wait.
Someone’s 5K is another person’s marathon. Your journey is unique to you.
Just start. Move a little more, eat a little healthier. Just start.
Trueform is proud to present the 2nd annual Beer Mile & BBQ, a client appreciation event (open to our friends that train at Trueform and a date, kidlets, etc).
Valerie Dennis, an inspiring Trueform client, summited Huayna Picchu this past spring at 70 years young, in an effort to visit what she describes as “absolutely out of this world” Machu Picchu on her decent.
It seems kind of ironic that James came to Trueform primarily looking to increase strength, when this guy is already one of the strongest people we know! Meet James, blind since birth…
